Congratulations, you are graduating. Your success brings joy to all of us, making us feel so proud and gratified.
I don’t have any pearls of wisdom for you, instead I’ll try to compress the lessons that life has taught me.
Whenever life gets hard and you think it’s not treating you fairly, remember that God may be testing your resilience and that there are people in worse conditions and they still say: “ الحمد لله ”.
If you feel lost and can’t remember who you are or your principles anymore, look inside and find your core, you will find all that you thought you lost in there.
For those who claim that you are less of an adult because you don’t have fixed plans like they do, all you need to do is brag about having big dreams.
You might have not figured who you are yet, and how can you when you still need to go through experiences that will mold you!! But you need to know where you came from as this makes up a big portion of who you will be.
Never listen to those who try to kill the child in you by dictating how adults should behave. You are an engineer, and soon to obtain your masters degree and earn your own living, all make you an adult without the need to be deprived of your shyness and innocence.
Don’t allow anyone to make you feel ashamed of whom you are and never accept half-hearted complements, the kind of complements that make you feel inferior and undermine who you are as a woman, or where you come from.
Don’t say ‘Yes’ when you mean ‘No’; you are better known as rude rather than as a doormat.
Challenge your self if you don’t find anything that challenges you, after 4 yours studying engineering the last thing you want to do is to give your brain a break.
Don’t give up when you fail; it is from your failure that you learn the most.
Don’t listen to those who try to pull you down in the name of traditions; success is a tradition on its own.
Remember whatever happens and wherever you go, I will always be here for you.

Amal, I am literally speechless and out of words. All I can say is your words mean the world to me! You're an inspiration to all of us. I've always looked up to you and always will. You've always been there for me and your support and motivation have opened my mind to different things and have made me want to continue my quest for knowledge hoping to be half the person you are today. You are amazing and I love you, sis! :)May 5th, 2010 @ 4:08 pm

Congratulations Nejoud. I hope you don't mind me joining your sister and the rest of your family on this joyous occasion. Both your family and mine go way back, and despite our differences in the past (lol I can practically hear you chuckling at that remark :P), I am still very happy for you as I would be for my own sisters. You deserve every bit of success that you have achieved so far, as you are a hard worker and a determined person. It was as if it were yesterday when both you and my sister finished high school. Its scary how time flies. You are lucky to have such a wonderful family that loves and supports you unconditionally, and considering that we grew up together, we view ourselves as part of your extended family and vice versa. Your happiness is our happiness, and may this be the start of another wonderful chapter in your life. All the best, N.May 10th, 2010 @ 12:34 am
